Harvey Lindsay still lobbying for Waterside?

According to the The Pilot, despite the recommendation by City Manager Marcus Jones that city council go with the Cordish plan, Harvey Lindsay is passing around a new Waterside proposal to individual City Council members.
Key features of this updated proposal include:
  • Replacing Waterside with a 60,000-square-foot waterfront conference center and an adjoining 28-story, $60 million, 300-room hotel.
  • Tax Incentive Finance district that would include 3 hotels and an 18-story office tower downtown.
  • 18-story office tower that would be the new headquarters for architecture/engineering firm Clark Nexsen and an expanded downtown presence for TowneBank. *This is crucial for the number of jobs it would bring with it.
  • Six new restaurants and a new marina, no Ferris wheel.
Without seeing any plans, it sounds like they're essentially combining aspects of the Cordish proposal with their initial proposal. And that sounds even better for Downtown Norfolk. Come on, Marcus! You're not even going to listen to them?
