Tickets Sold Out For Norfolk's New Amtrak Service

On December 11, the city of Norfolk will hold a ceremony at Harbor Park to celebrate the arrival of the first Amtrak train.  According to The Daily Press, Amtrak will be adding four additional rail cars (and 280 additional seats) because the inaugural train has already sold out.

Norfolkers will be able to travel to such cities as, D.C., Philly, NYC, and Boston for one-way prices ranging from $38 to $73.

Though the rail platform is complete at Harbor Park, the actual facility is not yet ready.  construction is expected to finish next spring.   In the meantime, there will be a temporary kiosk set up to serve passengers.  Passengers will not be able to but tickets there, however, and must buy them online at amtrak.com, through Amtrak's mobile app, or by calling (800) USA-RAIL.
