Scope Renovations Would Focus On Quality Over Quantity

Since suspicions were confirmed at this past Tuesday's City Council meeting (even though the brief was postponed), we've been wondering what these Scope renovations would entail.  According to The Pilot, the focus will be on improving the quality of the venue in order to attract mid-sized events.

Because of Scope's design, expansion to attract a major sports team is limited, so the city will invest in making it more plush, comfortable and accessible.  Moseley Architects of Virginia Beach and Populous of Kansas City (and great stadium-building fame) were selected to design a phased approach to the improvements at Scope and Chrysler Hall, including the plaza and surrounding areas.

The findings and a possible master plan are now expected to be briefed at this Tuesday's City Council meeting.  City Council would then decide whether to go ahead with the plan or not.
