Light Rail To The Naval Station?

Lost in the shuffle from last week because of all of the Better Block coverage was the news from WAVY that a $1.8 million study for extending The Tide to Norfolk Naval Station has begun.

The "Naval Station Norfolk Transition Extension Study", conducted by HDR Engineering, Inc., will develop ideas on a potential route to the Naval Station, which brings in 80,000 vehicles daily.  The study is expected to take about 15 month and will be paid for by state and federal funds.  It is required in order to obtain federal funds for the project itself.
