Norfolk Amtrak Station Photo Update - 5/7/13

Things are starting to take shape over near Harbor Park with the construction of the new Amtrak Passenger Rail Station.  Here are some progress shots as the actual structure is beginning to rise.

Some details of the project:

• 3,500 square foot station.
• The building will include ticket counter, a waiting room and bathrooms.
• The platform will be 725 feet long and partially covered with canopies.
• The station, just near Harbor Park, will be looked at as a potential multi-modal station in the future to include rail, light rail, bus, cab, and ferry services.
•  Project cost - $3,000,000.
• Completion Date – Fall 2013.
