This historic hotel, built in 1898 was an iconic structure in Norfolk.  The original hotel fell victim of a fire on New Year’s Day in 1918.  The hotel was rebuilt a year later and operated until 1976, when it was destroyed as part of “Norfolk’s urban renewal movement.”  The Norfolk Federal Building currently resides at this location.
