Tickets On Sale For Norfolk Passenger Rail

According to the Pilot, Amtrak tickets are on sale beginning today for Norfolk's passenger rail service, set to begin December 12 of this year.  Norfolkers will be able to travel to such cities as, D.C., Philly, NYC, and Boston for one-way prices ranging from $38 to $73.

Though the rail platform is complete at Harbor Park, the actual facility is not yet ready.  construction is expected to begin in October and will finish next spring.   In the meantime, there will be a temporary kiosk set up to serve passengers.  Passengers will not be able to but tickets there, however, and must buy them online at amtrak.com, through Amtrak's mobile app, or by calling (800) USA-RAIL.
