Norfolk Votes To Extend Light Rail

Not all was negative at this week's Norfolk City Council meeting.  According to WAVY, the council decided to extend the light rail to Virginia Beach just weeks before Beach residents vote on it in a highly-publicized referendum in November.  City Council also voted to begin a study looking into what it would take to extend the Tide within its own boundaries of Norfolk.

The study would look for a way to bring the Tide to Norfolk Naval Station routing through either Old Dominion University, Granby St. or Norfolk International Airport.  The study would cost $1.8 million, however, Norfolk has already set the money aside.
