New Ghent Apartment Complex Could Be Coming

At last week's Norfolk City Council meeting, city planners presented an overview of The Green at Ghent, a proposed apartment complex that would be located at the intersection of Granby St. and 17th St. Council members were generally in favor of the process, though an official vote has not yet been taken.
The complex would include 164 apartments in a five-story building consisting of luxory lofts and one, two, and threebedroom eco-friendly high-end units.  Parking would be on the first floor and the building would include a clubhouse, fitness center and a landscaped courtyard featuring a pool and grilling area. For more details, including the conceptual art for the project, click here.

Update:  This apartment complex has been renamed "The Element on Granby."

  1. So would Welton's be relocating as part of a deal with the City or just outright selling their property?

  2. That's a good question. Do they own that location or are they renting it? If they're just renting, they could get the boot pretty quickly.
