Throwback Thursday: The Original Granby Street

Believe it or not, this is what Granby Street at City Hall Avenue looked like sometime around 1868.  According to the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, the body of water was known as Back Town Creek and was filled in up to the stone bridge and in 1885 became City Hall Avenue.
